ATLANTA, GA — Innovative cleantech startup SOIL proudly announces its selection for Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator program. The startup is set to receive a package worth over $10,000 to help expand its operations.

SOIL was chosen for its cutting-edge solutions that bridge the technology gap, including a next-generation multi-connectivity IoT platform and solar-powered energy modules.

Founder Kenyon Hall says this recognition will greatly benefit the company, especially as it prepares to expand its product lines: “To be chosen by Amazon — one of the world’s most forward-thinking companies — is an honor like no other.”

The Black Business Accelerator program was conceived to provide sustainable equity and growth for African-American entrepreneurs. Chosen businesses will have also have the option to receive a $10,000 cash grant in partnership with Hello Alice, an organization supporting startups. On top of this, participants will receive $500 in Amazon credits for operational costs and $400 in advertising credits to help promote their products on the e-commerce platform. Aside from monetary support, entrepreneurs will also receive mentorship to further innovate and grow their businesses.

Rethinking what’s possible

Driven by the belief that technology should decrease the divide between the haves and have nots, SOIL specializes in developing power and connectivity systems that level the playing field.

The company is currently in a pilot test of its groundbreaking Griot connectivity solution, a multi-connectivity internet platform that will provide internet access to even the most remote areas of the world.

Aside from internet connectivity, the startup is also active in the cleantech space, thanks to its Zawadi line of power solutions. Harnessing the power of the sun, its energy modules can electrify everything from light bulbs to small gadgets, to medium-sized appliances.

Hall adds that: “In a time when racial equality is at the forefront of social discourse, we believe that technology can play a role in giving everyone a fair chance to succeed in life. We are honored to be part of Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator program and our commitment to thinking outside the box has only been reinforced with this partnership.”
